Jar of Hearts

Christina Perri was a waitress, but after her song Jar of Hearts played on So You Think You Can Dance, she became famous. She sings Jar of Hearts with such emotion, and her voice is just heartbreaking. And she represents a majority of girls in this country who ares strong. Feminism is evident in this song. Something about her voice just makes her magical. Haha. Don't believe me? Listen:

i know i can't take one more step towards you
cause all thats waiting is regret
don't you know i'm not your ghost anymore
you lost the love i loved the most

i learned to live, half alive
and now you want me one more time

who do you think you are?
runnin' 'round leaving scars
collecting a jar of hearts
tearing love apart
you're gonna catch a cold
from the ice inside your soul
don't come back for me
who do you think you are?

i hear you're asking all around
if i am anywhere to be found
but i have grown too strong
to ever fall back in your arms

ive learned to live, half alive
and now you want me one more time

who do you think you are?
runnin' 'round leaving scars
collecting a jar of hearts
and tearing love apart
you're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul
don't come back for me
who do you think you are?

it took so long just to feel alright
remember how to put back the light in my eyes
i wish i had missed the first time that we kissed
cause you broke all your promises
and now you're back
you don't get to get me back

who do you think you are?
running around leaving scars
collecting a jar of hearts
and tearing love apart
you're gonna catch a cold
from the ice inside your soul
so don't come back for me
dont come back at all

x2

who do you think you are?
who do you think you are?
who do you think you are?

I love that line "You're gonna get a cold, from the ice inside your soul" I mean, it's perfect! This song gives me inspiration and strength and courage to go back to writing! I haven't lost interest, I just rediscovered it. Hello, novel, here I come!

P.S. I am now downloading this on Itunes. My I-Pod will be so happy!

I have it on mines as well! and isn't amazing how through lyrics and music we find inspiration and that "push" that makes us realize we can't give up on our dreams?

Do you listen to Imogen Heap?
