Belated Veteran's Day Poem

Dark towering silhouette's
of black trees
belnd in with the sky
above it.
Bright lights of
passing cars
and lampposts
sparkle like hope.
Looking up to the
spiraling darkness
above
I'm reminded of those
who are fighting and suffering
I'm reminded of soldiers
and veterans.
But then I look down
to the city lights
and all is well
for I know love and hope
is with them.
